			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was very saddened today to learn that Jay Bennett, singer, multi-instrumentalist and former member of Wilco, passed away in his sleep early Sunday morning.  Wilco continues to be one of my great musical loves, and Jay&#8217;s contributions to their tunes are a big part of that.  Jay&#8217;s talent, musicianship, and ultimate departure from Wilco are well documented in the film, <em>I Am Trying To Break Your Heart</em>.</p>
<p>Just this morning, the sun shining bright heating up the Brooklyn streets, I felt compelled to throw on Summerteeth and blare it out the windows on summer&#8217;s first day.  Later that afternoon I learned the news&#8230;</p>
<p>Jay&#8217;s records will be on my ears and many others for years and years to come, and his work will live on&#8230;</p>
